Born in Slovakia, Jozefina Monarcha studied singing at the conservatory and at the university of music in Bratislava. 1994 – 1998 she was soloist at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava. 1995 she became finalist at the Emma Destin – competition in Carlsbad (Czech Republic). She attended master classes with Elena Obraszova, Peter Schreier, Eva Randova and Hilde Zadek.

Since 2002 she is a member of Vienna State Opera Chorus. Besides various solo parts at Vienna State Opera she appeared also in productions at Vienna Volksoper, Theater an der Wien and Bregenz State Theatre. Since 2004 she regularly sings at the Salzburg Summer Festival. Concerts in Austria, Sweden, Italy, Thailand and Japan.

Since 2006 she has repeatedly appeared in various concerts in Taiwan. 2017 she sang the Alto-solo in Beethoven’s 9th symphony in Taipei’s National Concert Hall with conductor Christian Arming; 2018 she performed Saint-Saens‘ Christmas oratorio together with the Taiwan National Choir.
